บันทึกการติดตั้ง Firefox 1.5 บน CentOS 4.0

Firefox 1.5 ตัวเต็มก็ออกมาแล้วนะครับ และก็ พอดีช่วงนี้ ใช้งาน RocksClusters ซึ่งใช้ Linux CentOS 4.0 เป็นฐาน โดย CentOS นั้น ก็เป็นลินุกซ์ตัวหนึ่ง ที่ใช้ซอร์สโค้ดเดียวกับ RedHat Enterprise นะครับ ดังนั้น การใช้งาน จึงเหมือนกัน ทุกอย่างเลยนะ

สำหรับวิธีการติดตั้งนั้น จะสร้างไฟล์ rpm ขึ้นมานะ เนื่องจาก จัดการกับแพ็คเก็จ ได้ง่าย ซึ่งสามารถนำไปใช้กับ Fedora, RedHat ได้เหมือนกันนะครับ

ขั้นตอนการติดตั้ง
1. ดาวน์โหลด

ไฟล์ firefox-1.5.tar.gz จาก http://www.mozilla.com/firefox
ไฟล์ firefox.spec, firefox.png , firefox.desktop จาก http://fedoranews.org/tchung/firefox/1.5/

2. จัดตำแหน่งไฟล์
# cp firefox-1.5.tar.gz /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES/
# cp firefox.spec /usr/src/redhat/SPECS/
# cp firefox.png /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES/
# cp firefox.desktop /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES/

3. สร้างไฟล์ rpm ด้วยคำสั่ง rpmbuild
# rpmbuild -ba /usr/src/redhat/SPECS/firefox.spec

4. ก่อนจะติดตั้ง ก็ควรเอาไฟร์ฟอกซ์ เวอร์ชัน 1.0 ออกก่อนนะครับ พอดีผมลืม มันก็จะขึ้นแบบนี้

# cd /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386
# rpm -ihv firefox-1.5-1.i386.rpm
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
file /usr/bin/firefox from install of firefox-1.5-1 conflicts with file from package firefox-1.0.4-1.4.1.centos4
file /usr/share/pixmaps/firefox.png from install of firefox-1.5-1 conflicts with file from package firefox-1.0.4-1.4.1.centos4

งั้นก็เอาออกก่อนก็แล้วกัน เหอๆ โดยตรวจสอบว่า เราใช้เวอร์ชันไหนอยู่
# rpm -qa |grep firefox
firefox-1.0.4-1.4.1.centos4

จากนั้น ก็เอาออกนะ ( จะใช้ rpm -e firefox-1.0.4-1.4.1.centos4 ก็ได้นะ )
# rpm -e `rpm -qa |grep firefox`

5. ติดตั้ง
# rpm -ihv firefox-1.5-1.i386.rpm
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
1:firefox ########################################### [100%]
